Judges' Votes
"Retributions" gets my vote. The case switch (camera vs. "coke" in cans) along with the sketchy character declaring "This place is sketch," is the kind of black humor that appeals to me. Or at least I think that's what was happening!?!
The final group of entries as a whole was a little disappointing, although "Unexpected Turn" and "Final Chapter" brought interesting turns. By disappointing, I mean that this group of teams had talent and didn't live up to expectations. Still there were moments of real movie making in this competition.
Retributions and An Unexpected Turn are the class of the field for this submission. My vote goes to Retributions because it has more complex shooting set-ups and continues the "inner voice" that we seem to have forgotten about from the Rootclip.
You Gotta Die is probably the best effort to date from that team.
The Final Chapter started off well but couldn't resist trying to make a parody of the process. Which was cute, but doesn't win you any extra points.
Special Report is moving into uncharted territory of strangeness which has no connection to the reality of this contest what so ever.
Definitely the most ambitious entry. For the most part it's also the best executed entry as well. Storytelling is a bit uneven. Need to work on the scripting. Still, well done.
Given how the last chapter pretty much closed off the narrative and made this last chapter rather superfluous, this entry was the most interesting and well-filmed. The coke was a clever twist and the editing and camera work were quite good. This entry all by itself actually is a fairly tight and interesting narrative. Well done. And while some of the other entries this time are, well, offbeat, given the difficult task this time (based on how the last chapter closed) and the end-of-term time pressures, they all showed that as a group you all have a lot of talent, creativity, and potential. lots of luck in the future.

To update the Credits:
Scott was played by Adam Miller
The Video Desk Helper was played by Matthew Ownby
This video is most definitely 3 minutes and 59 seconds long. It says that before you press the play button. But after the play button is pressed it says 4 minutes and 7 seconds. What's with that?
By far the best video, I wish it was 3 hours and 59 mins, long instead of 3 minutes and 59 seconds.
love it!
Great job. Looking forward to seeing more.
hahahahaha when he gets shot.."OWWW get it out of me!"
...that's what she said.
Absolutely loved it!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!
"What's with all this coke?"
(record scratch)
oh expression
lol
no one's ever said that to Barrow
ba-zing.
adam is a professional actor, but he is a homosexual.....too bad
After watching all other videos, this one's far better in terms of direction it has taken. But I guess you guys could have make enough use of having two cameras. I see lot of camera movement like zomming into the car following behind, when scott jumps onto driver seat and runs off I see camera moving left and turn back right, while returning case (of coke) at desk and in few more shots.
Also how did room mate knew that coke can was fake because the way he opened it immediately.
Nice use of music both in background and between dialogues. Great job on the phone conversation between Scott and Room-mate.
OOPS! I see someone holding the microphone on right far right lower corner when scott shoots the guy saying "This is for stacy!"
Definately long video but I liked it. I'm voting for it.
Overall, good job guys.

That's more like it, Mr. Wayne.
Get over yourself.
