It is really great to be watching and pondering these videos again this semester, and as a starting point the five entries for Chapter Two are all quite good (though only four seemed willing to adhere to all the rules/stipulations--one was far too long). However, of the five entries, "Draw" is clearly the best entry. From the non-diegetic music--not just well-chosen, but then well-matched to the shots and the cutting--to the great t-shirt on the protagonist, there are many superb details that help convey the story and the suspense in cinematic ways that make this video better able to over the time constraints than the others. I especially like the way you cinematically SHOW the viewer how the protagonist learns that he is being followed. I also like the use of the car to slow the pursuer/antagoinst down just enough in the chase. And the photo of the young woman that he picks up and we get an eyeline match to, very nice potential set-up for later on. The elements of the original root clip are maintained and enhanced and this chapter has a nice narrative thread with few, if any, holes, though I do wonder why he just happens to have a gun at his apartment. The ending--nice. It allows for a myriad possibilities in the next chapter. Well done!

I liked it!! Good Job!!
The ending scene was amazing!
What a sexy cast. Any of you available? ;) Mmmmm.....
AWESOME
good, but average video production. Some awkward music choices. I do like how you have not revealed what's in the case yet.
loved the artsy shots, especially the bike and spiked fence shots. i also enjoyed the luck paraphernalia lying around his room. but i will agree that the music wasn't fantastic. i'm guessing you couldn't use copyright music?
so sick
Yeah, music was a little weak. I felt the cinematography could use some help to. The zooms seemed awkward and amateurish, and there were a couple shaky shots. I do like how the contents of the case a still a secret, but I wasn't a big fan of the gun draw at the end...
Best one by far. Definitely has me the most curious about what happens next. I love how we still don't know what's in the case. Really well thought out ideas. And the gun draw at the end . . . . AWESOME
i really liked the shot of lucky charms!! good job!!
By far the best ending. Definitely took the storyline to whole new level by heightening the anticipation. Won my vote.
Cool ending... but some of the zooms were shaky..
Its perfect, its got some good style all throughout.
awesome!
Loved it. The music really helps to build tension. The camera angles in the climactic ending scene are awesome.
It rocked! What could be in that case? Hmmm.......
The music was great; however, the camera movements could have been smoother. Also, there were unnecessary shots during key moments that were distracting.
cool ending, however, some of the opening shots were a little odd...
I thought your technique of looking past foreground elements was creative, but like any good thing it can be overdone and I think you may have worn it out. It could have worked as many times as you used it if only you could have manipulated the depth of field to place the focus more on your character. Since everything was in focus, I found my attention drawn more to to the objects directly in front of the camera instead of to the main action in each scene.
it was pretty cool. i really like the close up of the word lucky of the lucky charms box. yummmmmm.... lucky charms.
This is just Brilliant. Marvelous work.
I thought there were too many tight shots in succession to give the viewer a realistic view into the story and not make them aware of the camera's shot.
Lines seemed forced, otherwis I flet it was artful and well thought out. Loved the horn blow.
I actually had to go back and watch chapter 1 again. Scott did not have a vehicle in that chapter nore does he look like he could aford the fule for one by the fact that he is flat broke.
Production was a solid "A". Just disapointed on the writing end of things.
You missed the part where they stomped on the 180 degree rule in the last shot sequence.
Definitely the winner. Good cliffhanger.
good job; good luck!
Great ! Job Ill need you to do a clip for some advertisement in the near future thought the ending was terrific.
Keep up the good work !!!!
psh...by far the best. Best editing, sound, character development....the list goes on
Great work!!! Loved the ending!!
That girl in the picture is smokin' hot...is she available?
Personally, I loved the music choices. It definitely adds some excitement to the video. I really like how we're still not sure what's in the case, and I love the ending! Great job! :)
diz videos iight
Awesome video! Love the ending
wow! love the explosion and the whole effect of everything. Great video! Really deserves to win!
So it looks like we are dealing with a gamblin' man who loves his booze and his woman. Ha, nice work. I wish you all the best of luck in winning this competition. Loved the crazy shots and dramatic ending.
Excellent job. I like the camera angles. Good luck!
Very nice (think Borat voice).
wow, this one is winning by a pretty large margin. I hope the judges notice the part, my bad, parts where the 180 degree rule doesn't seem to matter
that and the extremely convincing talent
yeah, because if there's one thing that completely ruins every aspect of a film, it's breaking the 180 degree rule. you can NEVER do that.......
OMG! that was so good..best one by far!
They did break the 180 degree rule one that one shot at the end of the piece, but it could have been worse if the talent were moving. This doesn't ruin the whole thing. The story is still the strongest and most developed out everyone.
@bobby86: Yeah, I think you're right. I've watched this several times, and I've realized that while it is a break in the 180 rule, it seems like it was done on purpose in order to make the scene more dramatic. Gives it a jarring effect.
that was really good!! that was your white truck right? also i have to do a short movie clip for my english class this semester. and i have no idea how to do any filming stuff so i am definitely going to be calling on you for some advice!
Wow very awesome! I was hooked the entire time!
good work
Outstanding production. All of the elements fit together nicely. A clever combination of photography, music, and action sequences. Extremely well acted, filmed and produced. Reminded me of a Jason Bourne movie. Finish it and send it to a film festival. These kids have a great future.
I can't believe this one didn't win. There is just no comparison.
