The lighting when "the businessman" enters is freaking amazing. The beginning is a little off but once we get into the beat-down room the camera work gets really great throughout the rest of the clip.
Last time I checked, 'Film Noir' wasn't French for boring.
A gun shot at point blank range would have penetrated through both characters. Ridiculous!
This was shot pretty well. The voice acting was good too, but I think it literally just inches the story along. Could have used a little more meat. That and another ending at a door? You guys did that with chapter 2.
I don't get it, i think the story is getting hard to understand for me. it starts out with the guy next to him getting kidnapped, then he gets drugged and now he is tied up and then he gets let go to go do something...i feel like it has some plotholes. why can't the other guy do it and why is he killed? I don't think it is moving too forward. i like the shot when the dude just appears when he snaps his finger, that was cool. maybe the next one will be better. no more doors.
I actually really like this one. The Sin City look (which I'm guessing is what you guys were going for) could be better achieved by boosting the contrast up to no end. If you had wanted to get really fancy you could have done the one color extract using AE, but I understand there's time limits. But nice job guys!
Um okay I really like the lighting shot when the dude emerges from the darkness and the main guys voice but what was the rest of it? It didn't really take me anywhere or explain anything so I'm really confused. so why'd they kill Kevin? and why didn't the bullet go through both of them at such close range? who is kevin? who are the people keeping them hostage? what happened to Annie? What could possibly keep an ordinary guy from running from those people that I'm sure he's never seen before at first chance? and why does he trust that they will give him whatever's in that briefcase?who is the head guy anyway? Why'd the cow jump over the moon? There are a lot of questions I need answers to and i don't think this group is giving away any answers.
@ loftHorus, you need to watch the clip again. Man of your questions are answered or with a little bit of assumption you can figure out your queries.
This clip lacked in story. Apcki put it best where's the "meat"?
But like everyone else said the beginning you captured the essence of film noir very well. but lost with your torture scene. Physics is always a something to keep in mind, but don't let it control you, most films out there don't. Good work, but not your best.
And Jaytaylorthe1 knows a thing or two about torture scenes.
