The effects worked, I dug em. The almost 'easter-egg' like Mike standing in the doorway after his head was bown off. The corn. Oh, the corn. You guys cut yourselves short, I like it. No noticeable dip in my IQ so far, but we'll see as the day goes on. All in all, I look forward to watching your submissions each week.
Getting better, but here are my few words of advice...
Tighten up the editing. Right after he says "I thought you were after my boss" cut it a lot quicker, avoiding the 'stop in acting' that he does.
Next, close ups! Don't be afraid of them! Almost every shot was a medium wide shot. Close in on their faces! Also, more cutaways. They help the editing flow smoother, and avoid awkward jump cuts.
Try and get your effects to look a little more natural. Its true, they are fake effects, but its your job as an editor/compositor to make them look as natural as possible. If done correctly, the audience can't tell its an effect.
I would suggest investing some time in story boarding. The story board should show every shot, and what background your really going to use. This will help you figure out how everything should be shot and acted to provide a nice smooth edit.
And lastly, your not helping yourself by putting the "your iq is now lower." Its not going to help garner votes, and makes it look like you don't care. If you don't care, why should people bother voting for you?
you know in a way i almost dont want to win just so i can make another video in the next chapter but then again i could really use a random bag of crap
Haha, this is very silly. I laugh every time at the "Damn Zombies" line and the headshot scene :) But I agree with the others, you could've left out the "your iq is now lower" text, it doesn't help with anything.
I give you this, Rockness: your effects pass just fine for the style you want, and you tend to know what sort of things the audience wants to happen. That's worth a lot, if you can shine up what you're applying your skills to.
I'm not against flying corn easter eggs, because they're fun. But unfortunately, you're competing with entries that are playing by different rules, and I think it'll be hard to win over them with WTF videos (by the way, I've coined that term as applies to cinema: The WTF Moment, or a WTF movie).
Definitely cut your shots before the actor drops the performance and looks back at the camera ("How was that?" "Good?" "Should I do it again?") We can see that. The ridiculous humor works best if we don't see the people in the video changing into normal people again between angles.
Otherwise, though, I really do like your effort with effects and I appreciate your entries each round. They've improved. But the self-deprecating/promoting at the end drags your entry through the muck; people are more likely to vote for you if the video doesn't drag on after the story is over. Short and sweet is worth something to voters, because we have poor attention spans.
Keep working at it, you can win legitimately against other videos.
"Damn zombies!" hehe nice. The effects were not bad. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you can do with your effects. I'd like to see more story but it made me laugh so good luck to you.

there is some serious depth to this one...

Up the production/story value, and it might garner you a vote. But as long as there is corn flying through your video, my votes stand...
theres corn flying through your videos every time tree bag
And maybe once you start leaving legitimate responses... maturity is overrated, isn't it?
jake come on lighten up a little you sound like my grandma
JakusB's comments are like a fine wine....
by that do you mean only stuck up douche bags get it
