So, KRN, you are like Capt Kirk huh? Getting some of that hot alien nooky while saving the universe?

7/1/2008 at 7:23 p.m. by jqutk

Nice! Sweet cinematography and shots, Kudos on the ladies too. PS Neil Patrick Harris agreed tot he sequel! j/k

7/1/2008 at 8:07 p.m. by mojo

Save the world, Les! We're proud of you--J&P@PA. Started following late, but gotta tell you that the drumbeat lead-up to the door kick-in was my favorite part of chapter five, just ahead of the split-second front view of the briefcase energy shot. Six is packed, but the teleportation with sound effects is pretty sweet. . .

7/1/2008 at 8:29 p.m. by manbearpig

Why? This makes no sense! Every chapter up until yours says that it is what is inside the case that is important and then you suddenly change it to this ridiculous concept of the briefcase has power and that is what is important, not what is inside it. I don't understand why everyone sucks up to you and wants you wiener so badly. You have an expensive camera yes, but I don't see any continuity in your stories, just trying to show that you know how to make flashy lights. Let'sall stand up and sing the praises to the new superhero Les, he will destroy you with non-stop special effects and bad acting.

7/1/2008 at 8:43 p.m. by natejones

"NPH wouldn't do that!"

7/1/2008 at 8:57 p.m. by joshutk

An expensive camera doesn't make a good film. Shot composition and framing don't make a good film. A good story doesn't make a good film. Special effects don't make a good film. It's a careful combination of lots of elements like the aforementioned, which KRN happens to be good at.

Don't hate on the storyline - the beauty of Rootclip is that the story is flexible and open to interpretation.

Manbearpig must be stopped! (Couldn't contain the Southpark reference)

7/1/2008 at 9:09 p.m. by manbearpig

Manbearpig must be stopped I'm super serial! It is not necessarily hate, but more of irritation towards glorification. You say it takes a combination of all of those, but I only see his stories having 2, expensive camera and special effects. I agree rootclip is flexible, but everything he did could have been made better by more attention to continuity, that is the major problem with the sight, people can come on here make a video with half of the required costumes and characters, dancing with Barney and gluttonising on spagetti o's, and win based on votes when it has absolutely no reason to win because it did not carry on the story in the sense it was suppose to. KRN doesn't pay attention to the other clips to get the background basics of the story, he just throws the characters in, gets a couple of quick shots and apparently makes people stare like morons with theirs mouths hung open drooling, because they just saw some flashy lights. I am sorry, but 2 of all those elements does not make a good video, but people will like what they want to like, this is just people learning to make films, so I think they should know what to look for on the case that they don't. Movies have continuity directors for a reason.

7/1/2008 at 9:34 p.m. by jqutk

manbearpig....where is your submission? Yeah this is not Oscar material but at least KRN tries, most others pull out their moms handicam smoke a bowl and press record. It started off with a plot but I think KRN along with others played off the craziness of the other submissions.

7/1/2008 at 9:46 p.m. by tarac

"MANBEARPIG" I only like Les' weiner so I can get to his fancy camera

7/1/2008 at 9:49 p.m. by ScoresEasy

Definitely this story has gotten convoluted from the original Chapter 1. I mean, initially Scott is this do nothing loser guy, then he turns into a super spy with a torturing Santa friend, it's a bit of a stretch. But therein lays the fun. That's why I keep coming back, to see what crazy turn the story takes. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the other clips for this round, because while I like the special effects in this, I'm not sure that it is the best storyline continuation. I thought I saw somewhere that they are going to have judges from film schools next contest to help guide the process. Is that true?

7/2/2008 at 12:41 a.m. by ing

continuity be damned! as long as KRN gets to show off his technical prowess with special effects, who cares if the story flows?

7/2/2008 at 7:55 a.m. by killerrobotninja

lol @ manbearpig and ing. It sounds like you guys are very new to cinema, so let me tell you about this cool new thing. It's called a TWIST. Here's how it works. You take a storyline and set it in a fairly obvious direction. Then you shock the audience with something they weren't expecting.

I know you guys were begging for the obvious boring storyline of: wrong guy gets case, gets chased, conflict, resolution, reveal case's contents. But that is a super boring movie to me, and i've been trying to change it with all of my entries. So my twist is: EVERYONE, including Tony, thought the contents was important... but it turned out the case itself had the power. Then a bigger twist with the power being installed in Tony.

You're crying about continuity, but if you watch my last clip, I answered all the questions and moved the story in a not-so-obvious direction.

Let this TWIST concept sink in... then you'll be ready for big boy films. Try Citizen Cane, The Sting, Fight Club... "What?? Tyler Durden is both guys?? Where's the continuity?? Special effects are stupid! rabble rabble rabble!"

7/2/2008 at 9:09 a.m. by killerrobotninja

I wrote this in the description but it's cut off. My crew suffered an entire day in the 100 degree Florida sun, the shots were not quick. Thanks so much guys, you're all troopers!

I'd also like to point out that due to my casting, I ended up being the ugliest person in my own movie ;)

I think the unbiased people can agree that the bitter commenters are full of crap. The acting was great!

If the Academy had a category for online continuation clip, with no budget, finished in under a week... we'd certainly be in the running. But if we were up against HungryMother we'd still lose, somehow. lol

And the award for best supporting purse snatcher goes to...

7/2/2008 at 10:54 a.m. by manbearpig

Wow Lesley, I guess I have been put in my place. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings to the point that you had to lash out and call your friends gorgeous because I didn't like your film. Trust me when I say that I had no interest in what was in the case, just a good ending, a twist would have been great... I am failing to see some amazing twist in yours though, but did they show you what was in the case in Pulpfiction? Of course not, and it made the movie that much better, So ending it the way people want? I wouldn't say that is what I want, but if it is done well, then so be it. I really do like that you said I was crying though, I really did last night on my huge pilla. However, it is great that you think your actors are good, I think that is great, I personally did not and felt I should have an opinion and put it up here to see if anyone else would have the balls to put something against your film, not want you to lick theirs, but don't be so quick to be on the deffensive, I am just one guy and you seem so worried and like a hurt sheep from that comment, don't act so desperate, it makes you look vulnerable, but thanks for the tip on what I should look for in a movie since I am so new to cinema.

7/2/2008 at 11:50 a.m. by killerrobotninja

holy hostility batman!

my first comment was defending my movie against your inaccurate accusations concerning continuity.
My second comment was praising my actors because it was cut off in the description(maybe you shouldn't take everything personally).
Your comments are quite bitter and spiteful, did I do something to offend you manbearpig? besides the special effects, I mean?

relax bro. it's just a game... one i'm not even sure you're involved in.

7/2/2008 at 11:58 a.m. by peggyBABE

DANG! this is good!!!!!! My favorite part is the cool looking shot with the big light at the beginning And the big crane shot at the end. Best submission this site has ever seen. You naysayers are making yourselves look dumb. This is the best one in every way. killerrobotninja made a new superhero, now that's cool!!!

7/2/2008 at 11:59 a.m. by joshutk

@MBP - Poor grammar and improper use of punctuation help when trying to make a reasonable argument.

7/2/2008 at noon by jqutk

Does RootClip give out awards for being a dick? If so manbearpig should get it. Im not kissing KRN ass but he made a quality picture that deserves praise. Have you looked at whats been submitted in the past? I don't even know Les, in fact we competed against him a while back but we both lost to Zombies. Critique all you want but don't act like a 5th grader and make personal attacks. So we get your point you don't like it go make your own!

7/2/2008 at 12:27 p.m. by shark

Well KRN, I think the movie looks fantastic and the storyline is decent. Not the best I have ever seen, but far better than most submissions to this site. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful and is definitely the best RootClip has seen so far.. All that being said, I get a sinking feeling that the Hungrymother and Soulshine crew will swoop in an win this one at the last minute. And if I was a betting man I would say that ManBearPig is in their crew too! Me thinks that they be jealous of your talent with the absurd flix that they keep postin.

Good Luck! And I hope I see you in the next contest, the judges will hopefully keep the cheating to a minimum. Oops... not cheating, "Gaming the system" as so many have said.

7/2/2008 at 12:52 p.m. by FungusRidden

Here's the thing. This entry (and every entry KRN posts) is technically best. It always looks and sounds the most professional. That doesn't happen by luck.

However, I do think that the story continues to disengage. There's a tricky line between breaking new ground, and getting overly abstract. My opinion is that while this direction is clever and original, it's not as user-friendly as a "predictable" plot. I prefer to call those stereotypical plots "classics," because they've proven that there's enough satisfaction in them to continue using them.

This entry is visually strong and narratively interesting, but what will ultimately count is whether or not it delivers what audiences want. And actually, Shark's right: what'll really count is how many "friends" HungryMother has. :<

7/2/2008 at 12:54 p.m. by manbearpig

Ok KRN I'll bow out, it seems you have quite a deffensive party, and I would hate for the comments to keep coming about me and not the video, so cheerfully withdrawn... Bad Grammar?

7/2/2008 at 1:06 p.m. by moviefanatic

Latest example: You just capitalized "Grammar" for no reason. Not to mention the misspellings. Deffensive? Gluttonising? Spagetti?

7/2/2008 at 1:33 p.m. by killerrobotninja

good deal manbearpig. no hard feelings <3

7/2/2008 at 1:43 p.m. by manbearpig

Sorry KRN, I had every intention of not posting any more comments, but I felt I needed to respond to moviefanatic and joshutk. First off the comment "Bad Grammar" did not mean what were my mistakes, but meant that, the idea of pointing out the way I write on a computer is quite an odd thing to attack. Computer lingo and writing are not really the most professional kinds of writing. I will give it to you, you can point out that I spelled some things wrong, (spagetti is not spelled wrong, it is just a different way to spell it, you can look that up if you want) but who doesn't spell things wrong on the computer? Who cares if someone spells something wrong, or words something different than others? It is an odd thing to point out, point out that my opinion is wrong, or that you disagree you think KRN did such and such well, etc. You will post what you want and there is nothing anyone can do about it but waste comments and time, just like this comment I am posting, by the way if I type something wrong, (I assume most people are like this) I am not worried about going back and fixing it, this is not an english class, but a place to come and critique films. So I am just saying us commenters should stick to the films.

7/2/2008 at 1:49 p.m. by manbearpig

me fail english! that's unpossible!

7/2/2008 at 3:17 p.m. by bryceanderic

Nice work dude, I'm diggin the cinematography, its great to see the quality of these clips go up and up! What camera gear are you using? -Eric

7/2/2008 at 3:37 p.m. by killerrobotninja

thanks Eric! I'm learning a lot, as you can see comparing this one to my first entries. Actually I set this one outside because of how great your clip looked. Natural light, I learned, can be a beautiful thing. The trick is making sure your exposure and shutter speed are balanced, but you already know that :).

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not using an overly expensive camera at all. I used the dvx100, at 24Pa, bare for the moving shots and with a Redrock DOF adapter for the static shots. I saw you guys are using the hvx200, so I'm actually a major step down in that reguard. But when your final output is 590x440 and highly compressed, it's hard to tell I guess.

I still want that HVX200 :)

7/2/2008 at 3:49 p.m. by l33th4x0r

I think this is a good submission. I'm interested to see what the other guys are going to submit before I weigh in. In the meantime though, I think this is a pretty good video KRN.

7/2/2008 at 4:18 p.m. by killerrobotninja

Hey Rootclip admin, you should be happy to see I used a technique from your blog post: "Intro to the 180 Degree Rule". You can see that I spun the camera around to establish the change in sides twice, right around when Tony is revealed. "It's not enough to shoot it, you actually have to use it in your edit."

Thanks for those tutorial posts. They're already making a difference ;)

7/2/2008 at 4:23 p.m. by davidmoon

I think this is the Hollywood conclusion. It's predicable, but it was a very well done. I expected a more clever twist or turn.

7/2/2008 at 4:52 p.m. by erik

@killerrobotninja I'm glad they helped! I actually did notice in watching your video and it didn't confuse me. Well done!

Best of luck to you (and the others if they get their submissions in on time) in this final chapter. I can't wait to see how this thing turns out!!

7/2/2008 at 4:58 p.m. by davidmoon

It was 'a' very well done? I should have said, it was very well done.

7/2/2008 at 5:36 p.m. by killerrobotninja

predictable? really?

7/2/2008 at 6:17 p.m. by davidmoon

OK, you have this awesome new power ... what will you do with it? It's predictable that a character would use it for good, become a hero and kiss the alien chick. I'm a fan of your work, but it's a little too much of a safe, Hollywood, 2D ending that didn't quite satisfy me.

An unpredictable ending might be, Tony turns around ... says 'Thank you" ...kills the alien girl with the briefcase ... his eyes glow ... and the next scene is a full scale alien invasion of thousands of Tonys carrying briefcases, conquering Earth.

7/2/2008 at 6:20 p.m. by killerrobotninja

holy crap! that is demented and awesome!! i want to colab with you.

7/2/2008 at 6:38 p.m. by killerrobotninja

Actually the story is very allegorical, everything was purposefully worded and shot.

I didn't mean for it to come off as stereotypical, but honestly "too Hollywood" is a bittersweet term for me to hear about my own work :)

7/2/2008 at 7:20 p.m. by davidmoon

Too Hollywood wasn't meant to be an insult. I think it was very well done - extremely well done, thought out and executed. I didn't think it was stereotypical ... but it felt safe - to me anywho.

7/2/2008 at 8:32 p.m. by davidmoon

@manbearpig

Me thinks you need to bless us with your deep understanding of the craft by submitting clips. Show us how it's done, Mr. Welles.

AND, SpaghettiOs (which is what you referenced above, not ... plain spaghetti) is spelled the more common way, according to the fine folks at Campells - so put that in your director's jodhpurs and black French beret and get out of here.

7/2/2008 at 9:41 p.m. by killerrobotninja

Sweet! I see the description box has been extended. Those RC cats are always looking out.

7/3/2008 at 10:08 a.m. by patrickbeeson

killerrobotninja FTW!

7/3/2008 at 10:11 a.m. by killerrobotninja

wait, what?

7/3/2008 at 10:56 a.m. by killerrobotninja

ah.. for the win. Well, you've got a gift for these things. Luck be a Beeson tonight.

7/3/2008 at 12:55 p.m. by mock

a most excellent conclusion!

7/3/2008 at 1:11 p.m. by thirteen

You got my vote Les.

7/3/2008 at 3:32 p.m. by taylorjodi1

This was awesome. I am very impressed and hope you win!

7/3/2008 at 4:14 p.m. by jimmyt

Nice Job Les!! And you almost got the girl!!

7/3/2008 at 4:49 p.m. by ariana42396

that was so awsome my dad was funny in that movie lol but yeah that was so awsome i want to be in the next one if you

7/3/2008 at 5:24 p.m. by bryceanderic

Very cool, especially the red rock. I just finished building a 35mm adapter, pretty excited to put it to work!

I'm actually using an hv20, at 500 bucks its about 1/10th the price tag of the hvx200, glad I could get footage from the two confused:)

You've got my vote in this round. Though sci-fi isn't necessarily my genre of choice, you can tell there was time and dedication put into not only the flow of the story, but the shots and the look of the piece as a whole, and I respect it as a fellow film maker, and appreciate it as a viewer! We're looking forward to sharing the stage again in the next round!

p.s. 2:34, hells yah!

7/3/2008 at 5:26 p.m. by damanritechea

Last one was great, this one was very cheesy. This is definitely no place for a forum war though. Some people shouldn't say certain things yes, and others need to learn to take criticism, and in the end the scale of one's talent is never measured in a popularity contest -so who cares.

7/3/2008 at 6:14 p.m. by killerrobotninja

I'm actually not into sci-fi either, this is the story that played out in my head for some reason. I'm very happy with it, though. Easily the best film I've ever made, this site is great practice.

hv20?... I'm not sure why I was thinking hvx200(the quality of your film probably), I'm even more impressed!

7/3/2008 at 6:30 p.m. by marcboese

teleportation!

7/3/2008 at 7:17 p.m. by tarac

needs more Les!

7/4/2008 at 9:54 a.m. by vote082

@KRN you said it's allegorical... what's it an allegory for?

7/4/2008 at 5:49 p.m. by killerrobotninja

It's an allegory of McCarthyism and the Red Scare of the 1950s. Tony portrays communists sympathisers. j/k... you gots to figure it out.

7/5/2008 at 9:42 a.m. by root

half the critics say you're too out of the box - the other half say it's too safe and formulaic. says a lot about the quality of criticism from comments.
First, second and third place are so obvious this round.

7/5/2008 at 2:02 p.m. by Ajacobs100

Thank you, my friend, brother in Christ and director-producer for the chance to be in your final entry. I think I'll go into acting;it was so much fun!

7/5/2008 at 2:57 p.m. by davidmoon

I believe that chapter 5 was out of the box, but landed on a safe ending this round.

The allegory is obviously the current energy crisis. "Want some candy little boy?" is a reference to how George Bush sold out to the big old companies during his administration. The mother is the American people. The alien chick is God. And Tony is Al Gore.

7/5/2008 at 4:19 p.m. by killerrobotninja

this guy's got a great sense of humor. What's your deal davidmoon? Were you part of one of the teams? Just interested in film and liked the site? What gives, dirtbag?

7/5/2008 at 4:38 p.m. by davidmoon

Big "OIL" companies ... I type too fast and think too slow.

No team or allegiances. I heard about this site virally. I'm not huge film buff, but it has always peaked my interest. I do work for a company that does quite a bit of educational streaming video, and in-house video production does fall into my area of responsibility.

7/5/2008 at 8:31 p.m. by you

way to go Big Rafael - Can I have your hat?

7/5/2008 at 10:21 p.m. by FungusRidden

Hmm... it's like Spider-Man?

Or, based on the clue of "brother in Christ," the Bible?

"To whom much is given, much is expected." The case was bestowed upon humanity, but they failed to utilize it appropriately. Tony, who was once a problematic thug, demonstrates true understanding of the gift and dedicates his life to passing it on to others.

I'm rather surprised I didn't pick up on that earlier. Subtlety is so important in passing along a message, and you did an excellent job at keeping it a little shaded. My fascination and admiration for this entry just expanded significantly. :)

7/5/2008 at 10:22 p.m. by FungusRidden

... at the same time as HungryMother takes the lead. :< I must be some sort of curse.

7/5/2008 at 11:27 p.m. by DJ

Good job guys!

Couldn't have done it better myself!

7/6/2008 at 1:55 a.m. by ariabella

a hero is born is obvious that it is way better than the rest. I cant even believe that the dream is that close like come on what are we watching here folks.

7/6/2008 at 7:13 a.m. by vote082

no way! if the case is the bible, or maybe the mosaic law, then that makes the alien girl Jesus. she SAVED Tony in the last round. She even went back up to "where she comes from" at the end. I was wondering why Tony doesn't get the girl.

7/6/2008 at 8:20 a.m. by peggyBABE

But she takes the case with her, like Jesus took the old law.

7/6/2008 at 9:33 a.m. by Cadillac

wow, I started reading through the comments and got annoyed so just dropped to the bottom. Very good submission IMO. I liked the twist, and the clip was shot really well. I like it KRN. Good Job.

7/6/2008 at 10:49 a.m. by killerrobotninja

Thanks Cadillac! Yeah it got rough up there for awhile. But Al Gore will be pleased to hear that manbearpig appears to have been stopped.

...or has he

7/6/2008 at 12:30 p.m. by killerrobotninja

You guys are right on with the symbolism, glad to see it's not too hidden. There's even more there, if you're interested in looking, and if you're familiar with the topic at hand.

7/6/2008 at 3:43 p.m. by teddymanofgod

Your on your way baby. This is great!!!! I want to audition for the next one. Ha ha ha.

7/6/2008 at 7:59 p.m. by Cadillac

so, out of curiousity KRN, are you really a Michael Moore Fan? I personally cant stand the guy.

7/6/2008 at 8:36 p.m. by RockstarProductions

Dude that was pretty good but was like the total opposite of what I had written. HAHA. Well I enjoyed it but the audio could use some work. Love the contrast and the whole letter box effect of the screen. Awsome job. You have my vote. Have fun visiting Mr. Moore.

7/6/2008 at 8:51 p.m. by RockstarProductions

Oh ya the twist is pretty sweet. Mine still was focused a liitle on the contents but still had that twist with a combination of a rad fight scene. By the by I might just take the idea of a super human guy like yours but give it more spin, if you dont mind ;D. You could say like another super hero BUT it would be better. I just thought this up in like the last 30 seconds of your movie. So thumbs up to your movie and hope I can get rights to the idea! ; D

7/6/2008 at 9:03 p.m. by crxvx

Fantastic job guys! JR you are a natural, where did you learn to act that way... Great special effects, I like the storyline also. Bravo for a job well done! Like teddy I think I want to audition for next time... :)

7/6/2008 at 10:53 p.m. by mom_of_one

Awesome job! Great ending....it was better than I had anticipated. You've got my vote KRN!! I hope you win. This was WAY better than the other submissions.

The root of all evil is the next best.....why are they in last? Not cool. : (

Also, I like that you had the allegory thing going on. Makes it more interesting. Job well done.

7/7/2008 at 9:38 a.m. by erinlanphere

Great video, babe! Everyone did awesome!! The votes are so close!! You deserve to win by far. Good Luck!

Also, thanks SO much for everyone who has taken the time to vote for us! You guys ROCK!!!

7/7/2008 at 9:49 a.m. by DLQ_Flickz

KRN <~~~~~Winner ...In my Eyes...by far..not saying the other entrees were not any good they were preety awsome.... but killerrobotninja ROCKED..!!!! we should all contribute and make a ROOTCLIP....1st real motion picture...!!!!! now that would be a project...guys keep up the good work !!!

7/7/2008 at 10:08 a.m. by rains_g

@DLQ_Flickz - Now that is an interesting idea, all contributing to make a feature. It could be really cool if someone had a script that could be broken down into 5 - 10 minute segments and let filmmakers from around the country complete each segment.

Anybody out there got a script?

KRN, just wanted to give you my compliments. It seems that your clips get better with each entry. I can't wait to get back in this contest in the next rootclip. The votes are close, but good luck!

7/7/2008 at 10:41 a.m. by manbearpig

Hello again KRN. I see you have become quite the hypocrite. This competition has become who can cheat the best. I'm sure people don't think that the godly KRN would cheat and that KRN will come on here and say that he didn't, but you know and he knows he did. I would say this on all three videos, but you are the one who put up the comments on let's make this fair and all that jazz, so good job on the 80+ slew of votes I can't wait to see how many more you add!

7/7/2008 at 10:50 a.m. by dmunsun

yo les you were awsome

7/7/2008 at 10:53 a.m. by buxguy

great work, Les. You got my vote. Erin has always had my vote, too :)

7/7/2008 at 10:57 a.m. by ScoresEasy

MBPig, I'm not sure blaming Les is fair. I was so upset this morning to see the obviously sub-par Dream clip winning, that I've been calling friends personally all morning to rally for Les' clip. I've probably gotten at least 20 votes for him this morning by calling people who look at the three clips, agree with me, and vote for Les' clip.

Although I don't think this clip is perfect, and I actually like Root of All Evil the best, I can't understand how The Dream made it past 200 votes.

I have yet to ask anybody to watch all three clips that didn't either like this clip or Root of All Evil, they all thought that The Dream was not good. So what gives there?

7/7/2008 at 11:20 a.m. by scottluxor

Great clip!

7/7/2008 at 11:20 a.m. by killerrobotninja

say what you want manbearpig, you're wrong. I haven't even voted for myself yet.

7/7/2008 at 11:20 a.m. by FungusRidden

IF Michael Moore got to pick which entry won... I think he'd go with this one. That alone probably merits why A Hero should win (and since professional judging is being installed next round, Rootclip's already trying to take thoughts like this into account).

And I am SO in approval of a collaborative feature! Somebody come up with something, because that'd be AMAZING! (if not miserably sadistic to the site's bandwidth)

7/7/2008 at 11:21 a.m. by mojo

Les! You've got at least two networks voting in PA, one at the Potter Enterprise, and Dayna has blitzed two or three of her day-care groups. What's with this PigMan?

7/7/2008 at 11:31 a.m. by killerrobotninja

thanks everyone! I appreciate every one of you so much! I'm sorry that my supportive friends and family are being likened to made up cheat accounts, but manbearpig has established his position as an accusatory pest.

keep the votes coming, I don't want you all to have wasted your time :)

7/7/2008 at 11:34 a.m. by killerrobotninja

Thanks Pennsylvania!! I love you, Mom!

7/7/2008 at 11:35 a.m. by fishnfool

Great job Les and team...might you consider doing this full time? By far the best clip in the whole series...can't wait to see the next project. Just, no more sugar bag throws. Good Luck.

7/7/2008 at 11:53 a.m. by davidmoon

7/7/2008 at 12:05 p.m. by davidmoon

Would you cut off a lock of Micheal Moore's hair for me ... Um, don't ask. Thanks!

7/7/2008 at 12:10 p.m. by RockstarProductions

Hey I noticed a conanuity issue KRN. Not tryin to be pick but notice right after the gangster punches Tony and then after when The gangster is shooting tony. The gangsters hat is in a different position. It used to be the side but as he is shooting tony the bill of the hat is facing forward. HAHA. I just go through every movie I see and make and point these out to better my filming skills. So Id help you notice that is you havnt. HAHA no hard feeelings! Congrats!

7/7/2008 at 12:17 p.m. by killerrobotninja

7/7/2008 at 12:27 p.m. by RockstarProductions

Ah I see.

7/7/2008 at 12:51 p.m. by grampam

Hey Les. I am humbled to tell you that God is on your side and You have many friends and family root-ing ( !!!!! ) for you and your talents here in Pennsylvania. A movie producer from PA. God's Country, USA ? Imagine that. I am a little envious that you are meeting Michael Moore. I Love You. Mom

7/7/2008 at 12:56 p.m. by jqutk

Congrats..and thank god

7/7/2008 at 1:01 p.m. by grampam

The thing that kept me really hanging on the edge here was to find out what manbearpig had to say next. I am really disappointed that he gave up his comments. Oh well, maybe the suspense will go on in the next competition.

7/7/2008 at 1:45 p.m. by mom_of_one

@manbearpig, you mentioned "This competition has become who can cheat the best." Since you are making assumptions, I'm going to make one as well. Is it safe to assume that you are a part of the hungrymother clan and you are upset that 'you' didn't cheat well enough??

It's a shame that you are accusing KRN of cheating. They being smart may have just spammed everyone they know and asked them to vote. Also if you look back at the comments it appears that his fans are commenting- proving that he has peeps to back up those votes- unlike hungrymother. Notice the lack of comments and the amount of votes....A little odd, wouldn't you say?

7/7/2008 at 1:50 p.m. by patrickbeeson

Congrats on the well-deserved win!

7/7/2008 at 2:10 p.m. by grampam

Hey ya' all. Let's give manbearpig a break. Pray for him or her (he or she is lost). His username gives us a heads up on the attitude. Let manbearpig heal for a while. The wounds are fresh. We all know how salt irritates an open wound. He'll be back next round. I hope he isn't left with irritating scars. God Bless You manbearpig.

7/7/2008 at 2:34 p.m. by catherinejts

Wait, wait, this is so strange. Why is there an assumed connection made between manbearpig and hungrymother? And why the mean comments toward hungrymother? He didn't win! KRN won! Why do we still have to have rude comments to the kids who didn't win? That is just bad form. C'mon, mom_of_one, you are (obviously) a mom, lighten up!

And also, since when did God decide to back up this video? Grampam seems to be a God-fearing gal, but that doesn't mean that God backs up just your son. Don't assume that manbearpig is "lost." That is self-aggrandizing and embarrassing, unless you, yourself, are God.

7/7/2008 at 3:16 p.m. by killerrobotninja

thanks again everyone! let's put grudges and suspicions aside, plenty of time for that next round ;)

7/7/2008 at 4 p.m. by davidmoon

I heard a rumor that the next RootClip Grand Prize is a Denny's all-you-can-eat Moons Over My Hammy breakfast buffet with William Shatner? Is that true?

7/7/2008 at 5:09 p.m. by killerrobotninja

I'm hoping for equipment as the next grand prize

7/7/2008 at 5:34 p.m. by peggyBABE

woohoo! wtg KRN!

7/7/2008 at 6:28 p.m. by defenestrationproductions

Thanks catherinejts you are always sweet and try to make peace. @mom_of_one sorry manbearpig is not with us and I would hope not since he called everyone cheaters, but his name is quite hilarious. You do have to admit that he did point out something odd. When we blitzed the system everyone called it cheating, but when KBJ did it they called it fan support and I am assuming good strategy on KBJ's part. I would give everyone the benefit that they did not cheat, because I would like them to believe we did not either. So I say good strategy to KBJ and say he did not cheat, just was better prepared or had more loyal support. I do also find it weird that our name keeps popping up in random comments hating our video. It is fine to not like it, people seem to love us or love to hate us, we don't seem to have any in between, but all I ask is that if people want to say they do not like any video not just ours, they should say why! So we as film makers can say "No I meant to do that," "I think I prefer it that way," or "That is a good point we will try to work on that." It is a learning process. @RockstarProductions sorry you have so much hate for us, I think you will be alright, just breathe and count to ten no film maker is liked by everyone.

7/7/2008 at 6:52 p.m. by rootclipper

thanks for chiming in hungrymother team. Unless your videos improve significantly, your reign of story-ruining terror are over. You've been ruling with unexplained votes, and no shame. And your videos are, for lack of a better word, crappy.

Enjoy your 4,000 plus dollars, that you stole from Rootclip (crazy when you add it up, huh?) and move on to some other riggable game.

7/7/2008 at 7:05 p.m. by killerrobotninja

I'll bite. What's KBJ supposed to mean?

7/7/2008 at 7:39 p.m. by mom_of_one

@rootclipper,

Wow, that was harsh. Do I sense a little jealousy on your part? Maybe you should lay off the booze and actually make a video if you don't think they deserved the wins.....

Maybe compete in the next round or, here's an idea....leave rootclip all together.

7/7/2008 at 8:13 p.m. by defenestrationproductions

@KBJ, I honestly do not know. I asked Hungrymother, because he is the one I noticed saying and writing it. He said that he didn't know either. That he said it on accident one time or thought he read your name like that one time. So now it just makes us giggle, because it doesn't make sense. Sorry if your were expecting something more elaborate.

7/7/2008 at 8:44 p.m. by joshutk

@KRN | Congrats! I hoped for equipment too for a bit, but the problem with that is that my team (natejones, jqutk, another) is made up of four people. Who gets the equipment?

7/7/2008 at 9:10 p.m. by davidmoon

OK kids, time to play nice. Can't wait to see the new improvements to the site.

7/7/2008 at 10:41 p.m. by DLQ_Flickz

I'm from PA and i got KRN about 8 votes.. from PA. as well .... So yes he had PA backing him up strong ...HA HA !!!

7/8/2008 at 2:01 a.m. by FungusRidden

Not to be dull, but I think $money$ is a handy thing to receive. It buys nice equipment AND eliminates film school debt! Hooray for making our wildest dreams come true!

7/8/2008 at 11:08 a.m. by joec

Great Job Les!!! Congrats

7/8/2008 at 11:33 a.m. by killerrobotninja

Holy Crap!! Nice effects!! Great great little short!

11/24/2008 at 9:44 p.m. by reca901

i think dusome did the same thing by adding a twist for the utk project of identity theft and used special effects and changed the boring same story line. i like this story it was a great change and i enjoy it.
