Now we know what's in the box? Shot well though

Wow. A magical potion that transports you to a port-o-potty without knowing how you got there. In Florida we call it Jack Daniel's.

That is hilarious! LOL @ FF

The production quality of these submissions keeps getting better. Not really sure where you can take a story after teleporting into a Port-a-John...

Very creative! What's the key for? I wish the girl had a bit more urgency about her though. She seems a bit lackadaisical for a person involved with helping him escape.

5/21/2008 at 1:25 p.m. by looch

Was he escaping, though. The way that Robert Applecroft (dude in the jacket) reacted when Scott when through the "portal" was weird...kind of like they all know about this thing like The Matrix, and Robert is clueless, but getting thrown into the mix.

I'm not sure how I'm going to vote this round. There are some really good submissions this round and I can't vote for all of them, cuz it would cancel my vote out. Bah! Anybody want to "bribe" me for my vote?

oooh, this one's awesome. I've always dreamed of being able to "teleport" via porta potties!

Hi everybody. Thanks for the interest. I had a free day and thought it might be fun to try this. I just love shooting stuff, and I think this is a great opportunity to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. I really enjoy all of the other videos as well. I'm just here having fun! Thanks creators and participants!

Good work you guys. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.

5/22/2008 at 9:40 p.m. by Gifterlagmender

Wow, that was shot really well. Where in the world did you come up with an ending like that?

5/22/2008 at 10:46 p.m. by marcboese

Well, I have figured out a high production ending that involves him teleporting into a major production studio, but unless I get more votes, no ending.

I liked the way it was shot, however the actors didnt seem very enthusiastic.

5/23/2008 at 1:06 p.m. by captainemerica02

The guy in the suit with the beard looks like "Evan Almighty", haha. Great vid, but I hope when I decide to time travel I don't go through a porter poty... the filming and editing was nice and the sound/picture effects were intense- beem me up Scotty! Overall, video was genious.

Very well shot and interesting direction to take with the storyline, there's a lot that can be done with that idea. If I were planning on submitting a later chapter I would vote for this because it's thinking outside the box and isn't just trying to make it another crime drama.

5/23/2008 at 5:42 p.m. by damanritechea

I have to agree with alpha- Watered down crime dramas are as obvious as another dumb csi show- Thinking outside of the box is great for story arc

I voted for this one, because of wanting to direct one in the future after this! This brings the whole thing to a higher plane, imaginatively!

This is a VERY good submission, considering you sound like you really shot spur-of-the-moment and leaped into the middle of it all! The effects pulled through fine and you stayed faithful to the continuity of the previous chapter. I agree that the acting was a tad stilted, but some of the characters were pretty complicated to take on as an actor, particularly on short notice! Definitely plan yourself into the next chapter and with as much extra time as possible, because I look forward to seeing the other plot points you might introduce. :>

I don't have your popularity though with web users. I appreciate it though! I'm sorry to hear about your uploading issues.

5/24/2008 at 4:56 p.m. by FungusRidden

Thanks for your sympathy; I just meant to explain why the video quality on ours was so terrible. Everyone's clip has the same chance of encountering technical error, so it's all part of the game and we're just happy it even runs. ^^;

If you continue making clips like this one, then your popularity will definitely increase! And, by the way, here's our team's secret: two of us aren't very popular at all, but one of us is. We didn't do it intentionally, but the way the chips have fallen, we have one Director, one Cinematographer, and one Distributor -- and in a popularity crap-shoot like this one, that last position is (unfortunately) maybe most important.

But everyone on this site has real, authentic talent, so even if popularity slants the competition a little, everyone here (entering) is knowledgeable enough to know good work when they see it.

Best of luck!

Great job!!! Wish you all the luck in the world... can't wait for the next clip.

Killer Robot also does work with Scripps, the company you are! I am a film professor that was trying this out to recommend this site to students. I am finding there are too many of you in bed with one another. I am very glad I learned this before hand. Please don't delete my comment before others can read it, as it will only prove a point.

5/27/2008 at 10:22 a.m. by killerrobotninja

wow, you got around i see :P ...but i understand

I work for an online Scripps Newspaper in south florida. Rootclip appears to be based in knoxville, TN and is under the Scripps Entrepreneurial Ventures(see the footer). I have no advantage. This fact displays itself nicely in the upper right hand corner of chapter 3, where I sit mediocrely in 3rd place (i'm no film professor but i'd hope you would agree that we should have done better).

I like film and happen to work for a large corporation. I have no unfair connection to rootclip.
