Rootclip

Hmm... I'm not particularly feeling it here. While witty at points, I think the story suffers some slow-down, especially in potentially one of the more lackluster cliff-hangers I've seen on the site.

However, the music was nice (particularly the song at the end, which I really liked and found fitting to the lighter elements being brought to the forefront). Some mixing would have helped keep it all a little more clean and neat.

Over-all, though, and personal qualms aside, this was actually a pretty good entry. Touch up your story-telling next time and I think you'll have some serious potential!

Thanks for the comments all, this was my first video of this sort (ever). I was very pressed for time on this one and I can't wait to make more. This seems to be an awesome site and now I am glad to be part of it!

WOW! There for a second I thought I was watching Rootclip - The Brokeback addition. If one of the characters had of only busted out with "I wish I knew how to quit you" you may have an Oscar contender on your hands. Anyways, It turned out kind of funny, not great, and I can't say that I like where you are taking this story. That being said, you showed some serious potential here. Is it really your first short ever?

Yup, the only other videos I've created have been "Music videos" which just consist of bunches of clips and no dialogue or acting.

Well thank God it never came to that. But I was kinda bored with the dialogue, it just seemed all over the place. They said a lot but didn't really say anything at all.

That's all I'll say. I can't be a harsh critic until I put my own stuff under fire.

p.s. If they can use the s-word in the video why can't I use it in the comments?

slickfire, i think you could kill it if you always put that much emotion into your acting. Get a crew and put some edits together, I would love to see something else from you.

I like the idea of the clip, you guys seem very believable on camera. I know working with just one other person can make operating the camera a challenge, but if you can work in more shots/ angles, especially during the dialogue it will keep things interesting! Good job on a first movie, I look forward to seeing future entries!

ps I first thought there'd be some necrophilia involved.... glad I'm not alone!

There's something about upbeat Latin porno music, when there's no one in the scene but two men and a dead body, that makes me uneasy.

I think if you had actually made this into Brokeback Root Clip, you may have gotten a bunch more votes...

If they broke out in song, with a chorus line of kissing lesbians, you would have had a sure winner!
