OUTATIME??? Where's Doc Brown?

ok, i have some questions about people living inside watches, and wrists breaking without enough pain to make a person say uncle. but let's get the really important stuff out of the way first, where the crap did you get that rocket launcher?

I have to admit to being gravely disappointed when Doc Brown was nowhere in this entry. You have no idea how excited I was at the prospect.

But, I super-duper appreciate the stunning twist you guys attached. This direction is unusual and enticing to me; it offers a lot of creative potential for the story. The execution was pretty good, although I'm sure your next entry will clean up the weak points and build on your strengths.

Over-all, excellent entry and clever diversion from the plot. Voting may be extremely close this round!

PS: Yeah. About that rocket launcher. Is that home-made, or did you actually come up with one somewhere? o_o A+ on that prop work.

Hahaha I'm glad you liked the rocket launcher! We built it ourselves; it was the most expensive part of the damn shoot lol. We didn't have the budget for christopher loyd, i'm very sorry !

there were a few bits i'd change (like the watch phantom zone thing), but i liked the angle on this story. good ideas for the story's direction.

"I hate musicals " ,very nice pick up from the previous video . Your effects and music were great .I was going to rip on you for the use of that notebook but then I noticed it was shown in the first video , so congrats on picking up on something no one else did . Great video left a lot of choices for follow up video .

This is a good submission, but I feel it would have worked much better earlier on in the story. Theres only two chapters left, and you've thrown in 2 (3 if you count who hes on the phone with) new characters who are going to require lots of explaining. Whats the deal with the watch, why'd he blow up the truck, whats in the book, whos he talking to on the phone, who is HE, whats happening to Ryan, whos he riding with, the list goes on and on, and theres only a max of four minutes left to explain all of this.

I'm not saying this isn't a good submission, I think its great, but I just think its a bit too late in the story to be introducing quite so many questions.

Adds to much? That's a laugh. How do you see this story wrapping up without any addition character or plot development. Quit making BS excuses to covertly promote your own picks.

This video is great while also moving the story forward and setting the stage for an epic finale.

yea dude if you cant think of a way to get past that you dont have much adaptability . even if you dont have alot of actors you can start your shot out without showing the driver of the car and the man on the phone can be just that....a man on the phone .oh lets not forget the MIB he can trip fall die the watch breaks and then bam1 your back inyour comfortable bubble jakusb with all your original characters and a chapter to go...(cough hack cough) .

We certainly do need to start tying up ends, but that's not a grading criteria I would pin against any single video. I thought the watch was an excellent move for livening up the story. I'm glad to see that this one is continuing to stand out now that votes are being cast. :>

Haha, sorry. I didn't mean to be offensive. Really! I meant this submission would have been so much better earlier on because it would have given more time to explain in this clip everything fully. @ jhonnyonthespot- I never said its not possible to do, its just harder to create a quality explanation for everything in four minutes. Once again, I apologize if I at all seemed hostile/mean in my last video, I'm all about playing nice too.

Those effects were 'special' in the "Oh, look how hard they tried" sort of way. Seriously? This is winning? I'm glad there are judges.

That watch effect reminds me of the old Sid and Marty Krofft kid shows from the 70's. (for those who remember the 70's) It's very Electra Woman and Dyna Girl-like (Youtube it, whipper-snappers)

I can't wait to blow you away in round 5! We got praxis and jaytalorthe1andonlyvirgin over here .This video is far better then what I've seen up, and don't hate on this kids effects cause you can't do any .As far as I've seen this kid is the only one that even has effects. I think this film, although campy, has the right formula for a winning clip. It's a mixture of cheesy effects, over dramatic acting, varied action and an ending that makes you wonder, what's going to happen next?

The beginning is very clever, with a good transition from the previous winner.

For the record, I think any (and all) veteran community members can clearly agree KRN is the best visual effects person around. Maybe you should go look up the history of this site and its past entries/rootclips before you say nobody uses visual effects.

On a side note, I hate it when new people to the site bring in a bunch of troll-friends. I don't mind new people joining up to submit entries, but they need to keep their trolls on a leash so they don't ruin the community. Shiesta!

KRN is the king of the formula I mentioned above, but he does it with more polish than anyone I've seen here. But that's not to say, that someone could come along and blow his work out of the water. And, his efforts didn't always yield a winning clip.

I think the explosion in "True Colors" used way better special effects than the ones here. Sorry! A little too cheesy for me!

Its wonderful if you want to defend a video, thats great, just try not to take pot shots at other videos and community members while your at it. There's a time and place for all effects, and I felt my video did not need any. All the effects used in this entry are not that hard to do. The the first couple involve using corn syrup and die (or detergent or w/e), the purple ray is created by duplicating the footage, adding some color effects, and then creating a mask for the ray, and then another mask of her. The watch effect is created by creating another mask over the center of the watch, shrinking the April footage down and putting it into place. If Tony wanted to be really tricky, he could have Motion Tracked the watch and applied that to the April footage, rather than just taking a still frame of the watch.

Also, I think all of the submissions show a PLOT. And three out of the four submissions are also first time submitters, so relax a little and settle down with the attacks. I guess we found someone to fill Rockstar Productions place... And once again Tony, nothing against you.

All the clips are quality and have a unique style. It's obvious that a lot of thought and time went into each. From past first time entries. they only get better with each submission; so keep it up.

And remember, there is a pretty stringent time restraint on these clips - if you are going the scifi route, cheesy will happen!

Dude , no one is dissing krn , when I said no one used them I ment this time round . And I am todays seeing some of the vids more clearly . I like this vid the best and that's my opinion , I came to it based on the fact that it picked up from the last as really I didn't think the others did . It can be argued that they were waiting for others to, but it happened in "the videos world" a second ago you might make a refrence like what was that car explosion even if you don't wrap it in a neat bow and explain it . Also mad props on that bazooka and the notebook from the first video. And when I said something along the lines of the otheres needing plots , you do have to admit they all seem cut from the same cloth . Not exactly the same but the april chick is just a prop . The dif being in the 3 one has a lot of running but great color and sound ,another has them trolling for tail but kept me watching waiting for them to ape april , and the last is my second favorite which puts me off just really at the end with the corny jostling of the hair type stuff ...but MP's will do that to you don't ask don't tell ....really satilites hmmm

Hi, I'm Tony's friend and I helped create this video! (My name's Lee, I also play KC)

This is technically our third video, and only the second where I was in the "pilot" seat during the editing process. So, all criticism is welcome, especially the detailed kind, or any tips, advice, etc.

I know the effects used aren't particularly difficult to do, and I don't think we should win just because of them. We didn't start with a cheesy effect and then look for a place to fit it in; we developed the story-line and had to find some way to convey it.

(I would have liked to motion-track the watch, but we don't have enough experience with after effects and didn't have time to learn. The shot ended up being so quick we decided it didn't matter and our time would be better spent elsewhere.)

And sorry for the trolls! We told literally EVERYONE and there are unfortunately some overzealous people among them.

As always, we had a lot of fun making this and learned a lot in the process. Thanks to everyone who choose to vote for us!

Even though the whole cracking of the wrist made me cringe I would have to say that the blocking has to be worked on. If you don't know what blocking is it's putting the camera at an angle so that way punches and what not in a action sequence look real, but of course the are not real. One other thing is that the cigar shots could have been shortened. You seem to just be getting shots of it. When you get a lot of shot of a certain subject it usually means to put meaning and purpose on that subject for the subject. Other than that this is pretty good movie. Best of luck to you :D

HAHA Love the motorist. Love how he says his line! I'm surprised that april survived being hit by a car, going through a 2 minute musical, and being sucked through a watch. Thought she would have died by now. For my ch 3 submission I had KC ditch Ryan to save him self and then have Ryan try to carry April to a Hospital. But then Ryan sees a helicopter in the distance coming towards him and so he assumes it is coming to drop yet another bomb. So they run and find shelter from the bomb and then Ryan leaves April in a room to check out the after math of the explosion. While he explores he finds that KC and a "terrorist" come out of a building (from shelter) and the terrorist Has KC in cuffs being taken away. Then Ryan runs back to get April but then he finds that she is gone. Oh and did you make the rocket launcher out of PVC pipe Tony?

Try to post your vid somewhere rockstar! After the work you put in, it should definitely be shared. It was difficult to cut ours down to 2 minutes, actually, so we can relate.

Rocket launcher is PVC, black spray paint, and LOTS of glue!

lol You forgot caulk; the thing that screwed us over; apparently whenever you pump something full of caulk; it never dries; ever; Even when you put a hair dryer on it for hours

Don't they make adhesive especially for PVC?

yeah, but it's expensive lol and we thought caulk would work xD

An awesome video clip, with some especially convincing performances by the man in black and the chicklet. The dude doing the running wasn't very convincing though; he wasn't motivated enough - maybe he needed to run faster or something
