I think this entry was really creative, and the hard work put into it shows on the screen.

I really like the addition of the newspaper-reading guy, the man minding his own business who gets swept up in the whole mess by trying to get away from a knife-wielding lunatic. That added another character to the story, which will probably be needed now that the Alien has disappeared, and Jim is back there writhing in pain.

The film could use more contrast, at times it can be difficult to see the action, and the special effects were done pretty well. The music edits could be finessed where the music stops and starts. Overall, a very nice entry and I look forward to the next chapter.

Even with the switch to silent movie style, this inventively shot and edited chapter cleverly carries the tone of the original clip. There's humour and suspense and even a bit of emotion. It also has a superb sense of the story, pushing events further along and adding some clever new twists.

While I don't understand the reasoning behind the shift to keystone cops action and silent-era hand-cranked genre, at least it was well executed, amusing, and I liked the plot contrivance for the cliffhanger. Also like the light touch of humor.

I can't wait to see what the Alien looks like under the coat. Great way to move the story along, and as the other judges mentioned, the addition of a new character was good as well.

Wow... that was funny! Too bad for Jim though...

Hahaha!

...I'm not sure what else to say... XD I love the genre swap, and you were pretty darn faithful to the style. I lost a little bit track of what was happening once the extra guy jumped in, and I'm not entirely fond of where the cliffhanger leaves the story, but it's a good entry with a lot of strong points and a lot of crowd-pleasing appeal.

Best of luck, thanks for making this!

Hahaha, very funny. I love when people play with different styles. This was a very original submission, although I agree with Fungus about getting a little confused and not being a huge fan of the cliffhanger. But hey, there were some AWESOME special effects.

Best of the bunch, I'd say. As a few others have stated, I also think the cliffhanger is a bit wishy-washy, but you'll most likely get my vote! Good job, guys! :D

This took it to a whole new level of creativity! What fun! Great flow, not confusing or choppy, very charming, all in all, loved it! Some suggestions: the boyfriend could be a little more animated... a bit more villianous. Exaggerated body language in a silent film really tells the story...(I loved Lainey's expressions!) But I felt the boyfriend's "half-hearted" approach didn't blend well with the rest of the acting (though the kicking scene was hilarous) Having a bit more contrast for those washed out bits i think would help too. I still can't tell what's going on with the moving jacket at the end... is that a hand? Seriously though, looking forward to your next...

This was a very creative entry. It was well thought out and the silent film production style is very faithful to that era. Nice work.
