Summer Movie Season!

It's here! This is the place to talk about and discuss any/all summer movies that you plan to see/have seen! First off, since it's the only one to have come out so far:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I thought it was a decent flick. I liked it better than the third X-Men film, but it really sorta botched the backstory of not only Wolverine, but a lot of other characters as well. I felt Gambit was very under-utilized, considering he's such a fan favorite. The special effects were also iffy. I look forward the the sequel, however, if only to see them improve upon the flaws of this one.

What's next? Well, I'll be seeing STAR TREK tonight. I've never seen any of the shows/movies, so I'll let you guys know what I (a non-Trekkie) think of it!

I really enjoyed Star Trek. I think out of everyone, the only actor who was a little hooky was Leonard Nemoy. I guess when you are used to acting beside Shatner, you can suck a little without anyone knowing.

Star Trek was amazing. 'nuff said.

Wolverine was too much a flash in the pan; none of the characters felt very rounded, including the title character. I think he spent most of the movie getting beaten up, anyway, just to show off the other mutants... :<

As someone pointed out, the X-Men movies ended up highlighting Wolverine, but once he gets his own movie, it ends up highlighting everyone else. Logan feels more like a tour map than a character.

On the flipside, Star Trek was incredible. I haven't paid attention to the series over the years, but I felt like they gave the characters ample time and attention while still maintaining a primary focus on Kirk and Spock.

I keep hearing so much good about Star Trek, I think I need to go see it! Especially when it's coming from non-Trekkies, too :)

Yeah, I'd definitely suggest it to anyone who enjoys movies. Anyway, next up is ANGELS & DEMONS.

I wasn't a fan of The Da Vinci Code, but this one's looking better. I'll be seeing it this weekend with AJ and some other friends. I'll let you know what I think. So far...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Average Star Trek - AMAZING

Yes, I have. Not sure what it has to do with the Summer Movie Season though... O_o

Hate to double post, but I figured I'd update on the summer movie status. Angels & Demons came out last week, and it wasn't that great. I enjoyed it better than The DaVinci Code, but otherwise nothing too special about it. Also, just got back from a screening of Terminator Salvation. I genuinely liked it, and definitely thought it was better than T3. I'd suggest it to everyone, especially fans of the Terminator series.

So far:

X-Men Origins: Wolverine = Letdown/Star Trek = Awesomesauce/Angels & Demons = Meh/Terminator Salvation = Good stuffs

Angels and Demons was plagued by the problem that Tom Hanks with funny hair running through the Vatican doesn't quite get my blood pumping. Considering the content involved, it should've been a lot more exciting. :<

I also just saw Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian. I don't know about you guys, but I thought the trailers were HORRIBLE, which colored my expectations. Turns out, it was pretty good, and the corny title was actually LEGIT (and not just a nice blend of words). Endorsed!
