Marble City Film Festival Announced

One of the additions to the grand prize for Hole and Corner will be the screening of the completed story at this year's Marble City 10 Hour Film Festival. This film fest is a great showcase for film, storytelling, production, editing, and acting talent in Knoxville. They're expecting this to be their biggest year yet.

They just announced the dates for the 5th annual film fest and registration is now open. However, they only allow 30 teams, so you'd better hurry if you want to participate. Here's a bit more info from our friends who put on this incredible film fest.

June 6th is the day all filmmakers have been waiting for!

The 5th Annual Marble City 10 Hour Film Festival will take place Saturday June 6th, starting at 8am on Market Square in downtown Knoxville, TN.

Filmmaking teams will have to create a three-minute film in 10 Hours based on a genre drawn at random the morning of the festival, while also weaving three elements into the film’s story in a creative and cohesive manner.

Films submission will be accepted between 6-7pm at the Bijou. Specific rules apply. Film Screenings will be at the Bijou Theatre. Doors open at 7:30pm. Show begins at 8pm and goes until all films have been shown. Public admission is offered for $7 a ticket.

Cash Prizes and trophies will be awarded in both a General and Student category and are as follows: General - 1st $500, 2nd $350, 3rd $200 Student- 1st $200 (all team members must be 18 and under) Also, the audience has a chance to vote for their favorite. This team will also receive one of our cool trophies.

Entry fee is $50 per team in advance, $60 day of festival. We suggest keeping your filmmaking team to 8 individuals, but it’s your team, do what you want.
