That's right, kids! Starting today, Rootclip.com is the classroom for the University of Tennessee's advanced film students. We are teaming with the university to allow film students to complete a Rootclip for fun, bragging rights, and of course grades. We think it is a super cool way for up-and-coming film students to get real world feedback on their efforts.
So if Rootclip.com is the classroom, then you are the professors! We want to encourage all of you wonderful filmmakers and film lovers at Rootclip to help weigh in with your votes and constructive criticisms on their project entries. Their grades really are dependent upon your votes and comments. Voting is open to everybody on the site, and will start this Thursday, same as for Chapter 6 of Chance Encounter.
The UTK film students will be building their story on Rootclip's original movie, Identity Theft. Everybody involved in the project is very excited to see the creativity the students can bring to the table.
To help support the project, simply go here and vote on your favorite clip - UTK 2008 Fall Film Project. We should be seeing entries submitted very soon!
This project is not open to just anybody, you need to be a University of Tennessee Knoxville film school student actively registered in Advanced Filmmaking taught by Dr. Robert Legg during Fall 2008 term to submit. EVERYBODY CAN STILL VOTE AND COMMENT! See the rules here UTK 2008 Fall Project Rules.
Also, if you are a film student or professor at another university, and would like to make Rootclip.com a class project as well, just contact us. We'd love to help out your school.

What? No shout out?
Seriously, sorry about that Josh. Josh totally hooked us up to make this happen. He is the man and we bow down to him... ;-)

I just hope there's a shootout in somebodies living room to recover a thumb drive
true that, that part was fun XD
Haha no worries - no shoutout required, as I would have been doing Rootclip either way. As a poor college student though, grades ? monetary prizes. Which is why I'll just have to do both!
Sweet!
Is it a whole class of folks? how many entries can we look forward to?
The class is broken into teams, so we can expect 5 entries per chapter.
joshutk : poor college kid? I know what TVC pays you! ha
