I'm afraid we don't have a lot of excitement to offer... :<

We're shooting on a Panasonic PV-GS320 mini-DV camcorder -- a little nice for an average consumer, but still bottom-rung for a filmmaker. Our only "equipment" consists of a standard-issue Walmart tripod and a golf caddy cart, which serves as a reasonably smooth (and easy-to-store) dolly.

On the Post end of things, we're editing on MacBooks in Final Cut Pro. No Pro Tools or After Effects... :< Very simple and basic.

I also have an M-Audio 49-note MIDI keyboard, which I used in conjunction with Garageband to do some scoring on our Chapter 3 entry. It's lower-tier equipment, like everything else we own, but we try to emphasize character and dialogue to make up for our technical weaknesses.

We'll work more on production values after Warner Brothers begins funding us. ;)

Well, I haven't entered this version of RootClip (yet...) but I did participate in the beta version and here is the gear that I use.

Panasonic dvx-100b for the camera (shot in 24p) Editing on Adobe Premiere CS3 Color correction/effects with After Effects CS3 Muscial scoring/editing with Adobe Soundbooth CS3 and SmartSound Edititng system is a Dell 1721 laptop with dual core AMD Turion processor and 2gb RAM.

I have a hand me down wireless lav (really good pro quality, but I have no idea the brand) and cheap AudioTechica handheld that I actually use on a boom, even though it is not a shotgun mic and a surprisingly good and fluid SunPak ProM2 tripod. SunPak may not be a brand thought of as quality, and this tripod is definitely not a Bogen or Sachtler, but it really does a nice job considering you can pick one up at Adorama for around $100.

For lighting I use a Smith Victor photoflood 3 point set (the cheapest kit I could find that had decent reviews) and shoot through umbrellas for a softbox feel and of course the all important foamcore board from walmart as my reflectors.

That's basically it...

@rains_g I remember you guys from the beta! You guys definitely had some killer videos. Your quality was always really good and I enjoyed your storylines. I hope we'll see something from you guys this round.

I'm also curious to know what happened to Jlowery145 and that whole crew. They should've won in the beta and I'd like to see more from them, too!

As for my rig...I don't own anything of my own, but I do have a Canon SD1000 point and shoot! LOL!!

@looch... thanks for the compliment. As for Jlowery145, I am friends with one of the group members (he actually starred in my first submission) and they say they have just been covered up this summer. I do believe that they want to enter and will hopefully do so soon. As for us entering, we are kicking some ideas around. Who knows, maybe we'll throw down the gauntlet in this round.

@rains_g let thine gauntlet be thrown!

Cool stuff, I need to get some gear and start submitting. Is it better to rent, or own?
