HungryFungus Roasts Rootclip

We'd like to share with you a video uploaded to us by HungryFungus that roasts Rootclip. I've watched it five times and still can't stop laughing. If your video got skewered, don't worry, they are equal opportunity fun makers!

We want to sincerely thank Patrick Fox, Josh Queener, Josh Richard, and Nathan Jones for submitting the video. These guys have definitely been paying attention to our growing pains. They have skillfully parodied almost every aspect of the site with laser precision, even the killerrobotninja filmmaker spotlight!

While the video is fun and games, we understand the critiques and we think this video is a very creative way to highlight a few of the things we've all been dealing with this contest period. We're listening, and we're making quite a few changes that users have suggested to us.

We know that things are a bit wacky this round, and we are making a lot of changes for next round that should make things run more smoothly.

In the next round, starting on July 8th, we will be adding judges from film schools nationwide, as well as guest judges, to help guide the selection process. Judge picks will make up 50% of the contest, instead of a purely user driven voting system. This will help Rootclip achieve a more consistent storyline, and be less subject to any type of vote flooding.

In addition, we are adding multiple storylines, user profiles, and we hope to make prizes for each new contest even better than the last.

So, without any further ado, here is "Production Meeting" by HungryFungus.

We understand how much time and effort goes into each submission, and we are truly grateful for our dedicated users and teams like HungryFungus.

And by the way, HungryFungus, can you get us Jon Heder? We'd really appreciate it!

HungryFungus FTW!

@fiercedeityys we just noticed this typo, but you beat us to it. We've corrected our mistake. The username this was submitted by was "HungryFungus".

They went all out in their video, even their username. Love it!

This has everything. Zombies, special effects, voice overs, and Santa.

Best line, "Didn't that guy get raped?", "Better believe it!". I almost shot my soda through my nose.

I'm stoked to see who you guys get as judges next contest. Anybody uber famous? Maybe even Santa?

How can I record the audio portion of "I can't wait to get home to take a bubblebath" into something like a .wav file? I want that as my error sound on Windows at work. Might freak my co-workers out though.

Good work guys, this video is wicked.

LOL, "HungryFungus"

This is awesome!

I think Jon might be available for the next season of Rootclip. We'll see.

This is funny as all get out. I think they all deserve a free "Hey, Dirtbag!" t-shirt for their efforts.

i love it! was one of those lines a jab at me? maybe the special effects? if so that's awesome!

6/20/2008 at 8:08 a.m. by jqutk

KRN not a jab at you (we actually like your work) but yeah we had to include everybody, even ourselves, If we'd only seen "Jim" before we shot it haha

I had to watch this three different times because I kept on laughing so uncontrollably I couldn't hear what was being said. Even though half of what was said were shots to video!!! Very nice guys truly hilarious. BTW- I used Windows Movie Maker, not i-move

Okay...best part...

"I found this briefcase on the way to work. We could use it somehow."
"What's in it?"
[shrug] "I don't know."
"Love it. Adds Suspense."

I'll bet this is totally how it goes at Rootclip. LOL!

Just my 2 cents...

I'm with you man. I don't think you look that much like John Heder either. But you sure do look a lot like John Krasinski (Jim Halpert - The Office).

Maybe you could get us Steve Carell for the next Rootclip?

6/20/2008 at 12:34 p.m. by killerrobotninja

There's so much going on i feel like i'm missing jokes... someone should break down all the references. I just remembered the john heder comment on your video, so now i get the character confessional.

Seriously, this is hilarious, and smart, and very well edited!

6/20/2008 at 3:10 p.m. by davidmoon

Yes, we need another video with pop-up video style annotations.

6/20/2008 at 4:32 p.m. by root

haha... this davidmoon guy is full of good ideas

6/20/2008 at 11:26 p.m. by FungusRidden

Ha ha, I panicked when I saw another Fungus on the site ("who picks a username like that? Seriously!"). Now that I've seen this... XD

Great video! Thank you for spending some time just to lighten the mood and get some laughs. :>

No ... he looks more like that kid form the 8o's flick, The Manhattan Project with John Lithgow. See ---> http://mediahog.com/lookalike.jpg

This is really good. Aside from all the jabs, which are amazingly accurate, my favorite part of this clip is the outfit on the guy standing up. I can't get over it.

6/24/2008 at 4:50 p.m. by killerrobotninja

That looks like a sick conference room. Am i seeing two 32" monitors?

6/24/2008 at 5:24 p.m. by jqutk

Its 46" and we just basically slipped in and shot it

6/24/2008 at 8:47 p.m. by charliechaplin

@jqutk

That's what she said...

6/25/2008 at 12:55 p.m. by moviefanatic

@jqutk

Zing!

Hilarious! I live in the same town as the production office and, ironically, their meetings are exactly like this!
