While we don't advocate 'nicking' any 'planks' from a construction site, this is a very interesting way to get smooth tracking shots on the cheap. Just add in a bit of smoothing in software, and you've just added some shot dimension to your clip.

It's still a bit bumpy, but I bet software could smooth this out.
